The objective of this review is to explore “The concept of "cure" across various medical and philosophical frameworks, particularly within homoeopathy. The discussion examines definitions, principles, and methodologies associated with the idea of restoring health, emphasizing perspectives from Hahnemann, Stuart Close, Carroll Dunham, and others. Key Topics include the relationship between disease properties and medicinal effects, the distinction between curing and healing, and the role of pathology in treatment. The paper contrasts homoeopathy's holistic approach with modern medicine’s symptom-based interventions and highlights the importance of understanding the root cause of disease. Historical and contemporary views on cure in Ayurveda, Siddha, and modern medicine are also considered. The review concludes that the concept of cure varies significantly across different medical systems and different philosophies of homoeopathy. The study raises questions about the validity of existing cure principles, particularly Hering’s Law of Cure, and suggests further investigation on it.
