Abstract

“Adenomyosis is a common gynaecological condition characterized by the presence of endometrial glands and stroma deep within the myometrium associated with myometrial hypertrophy and hyperplasia”. A 34 year old female patient presented with excessive bleeding during the first three days of menstruation with passage of clots . Severe lower abdominal pain during menses with weakness. She was diagnosed with uterine adenomyosis with a small fibroid and multinodular goitre. Individualised Homoeopathic medicine was selected on the basis of the totality of symptoms of the patient and which gave significant improvement to the patient’s health. At first Pulsatilla 200 was given and later the potency was raised to 1M. Rhustox 200 was prescribed during the course of treatment for acute complaints. The outcome assessment of the case was done by USG scan before and after treatment. This case study demonstrates the role of individualised homoeopathic medicine in the management of adenomyosis.
